The $5.98 E.P. - Garage Days Re-Revisited by the American heavy metal band Metallica was released in 1987. The EP is a collection of cover songs, paying tribute to the bands that influenced Metallica, including artists like Diamond Head, Misfits, and Killing Joke. It was the first recording to feature Jason Newsted on bass, following the tragic death of previous bassist Cliff Burton. The raw, garage-band feel of the EP connects back to Metallica's early days, and the release was well-received by fans for its energy and homage to the band's roots. Garage Days Re-Revisited helped bridge the gap between Master of Puppets and the band's next studio album, ...And Justice for All, maintaining their momentum in the late 1980s.
